Welcome to Boomer Veterinary Hospital!

Boomer Veterinary Hospital is the ONLY Fear Free Certified Practice in Norman and only one of two veterinary hospitals to earn this prestigious certification in the state of Oklahoma! We want pets to have the best experience possible, which is why we believe in Fear Free practices and not separating you from your pet during examinations. We strive to offer sound, practical advice and optimal veterinary care, for the enjoyment of your companion for the maximum number of years possible. Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn't feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy. We understand the special role your pet plays in your family, and we are dedicated to becoming your partner in your pet's health care. We treat your pet as we would treat our own and we try to keep the warm small town feel to our hospital.

You can schedule appointments and view your pet’s records through our Pet Portal!
Please remember to bring your pet hungry. This helps in two ways:
  • If we need to draw blood, then your pet’s blood won’t have a lot of fat in it which gives altered results.
  • And most important, we will be giving your pet treats. This helps make your pet feel more at ease and reduces stress and anxiety. In turn, treats help them get a better exam.

​If you would like to have your pet checked for intestinal parasites, please bring a fresh stool sample.  We offer free fecal collection kits for you to use (located in the baskets by our front door in the lobby).  We also have free urine collection kits available if you would like us to check any urinary issues that your pet may be experiencing. (These kits are also located in the baskets by the front door in our lobby.)

For the safety of you, your pet, and others: 
  • Dogs MUST be on a leash 6ft or shorter.  We do NOT allow retractable leashes. 
  • Cats MUST be secured in an appropriate cat carrier.  We do NOT allow loose cats in our building. ​
