Meet Our Team!
Here at Boomer Veterinary Hospital we treat every client as though they were family and each pet as if they were our own. In fact, we named the clinic after our dog, “Boomer.” Our entire staff is vaccinated for Covid-19 and Influenza. We have Blue Air HEPA filters to prevent the spread of airborne diseases no matter which they may be (such as Kennel Cough or Flu). We provide comprehensive, high quality veterinary care with emphasis on exceptional client service and patient care. We also believe that going to the veterinarian can be scary for some pets, but it should never be scary! We want pets to have the best experience possible, which is why we believe in Fear Free practices and not separating you from your pet during examinations.
We are the ONLY Fear Free Certified Practice in Norman and our staff are Certified Fear Free Professionals! Please bring your pet hungry so we can give them lots of treats! |
Dr. DentonDr. Denton has wanted to be a veterinarian ever since she was six years old. She grew up between Dallas, TX, and St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. Dr. Denton attended Texas A&M University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science and a Master’s degree in Veterinary Microbiology. She pursued her veterinary education at Ross Veterinary School with an initial focus on becoming a poultry veterinarian in Georgia. However, plans changed after meeting her future husband during a Christmas break in Norman, OK. Dr. Denton completed her clinical year at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK.
Now residing in Norman, Dr. Denton lives with her husband and their two children on a ranch where they raise and show Belted Galloway cattle. She is also a council member of the Belted Galloway Society. In her spare time, she enjoys riding horses on trails or in the dressage ring. She also has a variety of other animals, including chickens, cats, and dogs. Dr. Denton has worked tirelessly to make her veterinary clinic a Certified Fear Free Practice, and achieving Gold Status with the American Association American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) as a Cat Friendly Practice. She values pets above all else, with a special focus on making her clinic a safe and stress-free environment, particularly for cats. Fear Free practices minimize anxiety and stress in pets during their visits, using techniques that cater specifically to the unique needs of each animal. Dr. Denton is trained in laparoscopic spays, a minimally invasive surgery that provides significant benefits such as smaller incisions, faster recovery, and reduced pain for pets. She is dedicated to using the gold standard of care, ensuring that every pet receives the best treatment possible. |

StephanieHello! My name is Stephanie! I have a passion for helping Pet Parents with all their fur baby’s needs. Just a little about myself: I love all types of animals and have worked at a veterinary clinic for nearly 8 years. During this time, I have taken care of everything from the smallest of kittens to very old dogs, and everything in between. I really enjoy geriatric patients. The clinic I worked at was very fast paced and also saw emergencies, so I acquired a variety of experience often worked under a lot of pressure and stressful situations, but it was enjoyable. I also have other animal related experience and am currently enrolled in the Veterinary Technician Program and hope to obtain my certification soon. At home, I have 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a bearded dragon named Buffy. One of my dogs is a 6 lb special needs blind Chihuahua named Anna.

MikaylaHello, pet parents! I'm Mika, a certified dog groomer here at Boomer Vet. Adoring pups of all shapes and sizes is what I do after growing up being no stranger to animal care from working on farms to raising litters of puppies. I have my own two beautiful girls at home: sweet old Charlie the Labrador and her fetch-loving little sister Yue the White Shepherd that my partner and I dote on and spoil to death. After training under various very talented groomers I learned valuable attention to detail and how to safely handle even the wiggliest of dogs, and decided to join the team. This line of work came to me like a miracle with my passion for dog behavior and styling, the creativity in grooming is where I fell in love with it. There isn't a day I don't look forward to improving my artistry and building precious relationships with animals. I hope to see your fur babies and maybe even bring out a style that suits them!
