Meet Our Team!

Here at Boomer Veterinary Hospital we treat every client as though they were family and each pet as if they were our own. In fact, we named the clinic after our dog, “Boomer.” Our entire staff is vaccinated for Covid-19 and Influenza. We have Blue Air HEPA filters to prevent the spread of airborne diseases no matter which they may be (such as Kennel Cough or Flu). We provide comprehensive, high quality veterinary care with emphasis on exceptional client service and patient care. We also believe that going to the veterinarian can be scary for some pets, but it should never be scary! We want pets to have the best experience possible, which is why we believe in Fear Free practices and not separating you from your pet during examinations.
We are the ONLY Fear Free Certified Practice in Norman and our staff are Certified Fear Free Professionals! Please bring your pet hungry so we can give them lots of treats! |
Dr. DentonDr. Denton has wanted to be a veterinarian ever since she was six years old. She grew up between Dallas, TX, and St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. Dr. Denton attended Texas A&M University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science and a Master’s degree in Veterinary Microbiology. She pursued her veterinary education at Ross Veterinary School with an initial focus on becoming a poultry veterinarian in Georgia. However, plans changed after meeting her future husband during a Christmas break in Norman, OK. Dr. Denton completed her clinical year at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK.
Now residing in Norman, Dr. Denton lives with her husband and their two children on a ranch where they raise and show Belted Galloway cattle. She is also a council member of the Belted Galloway Society. In her spare time, she enjoys riding horses on trails or in the dressage ring. She also has a variety of other animals, including chickens, cats, and dogs. Dr. Denton has worked tirelessly to make her veterinary clinic a Certified Fear Free Practice, and achieving Gold Status with the American Association American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) as a Cat Friendly Practice. She values pets above all else, with a special focus on making her clinic a safe and stress-free environment, particularly for cats. Fear Free practices minimize anxiety and stress in pets during their visits, using techniques that cater specifically to the unique needs of each animal. Dr. Denton is trained in laparoscopic spays, a minimally invasive surgery that provides significant benefits such as smaller incisions, faster recovery, and reduced pain for pets. She is dedicated to using the gold standard of care, ensuring that every pet receives the best treatment possible. |
IreonnaHi! My name is Ireonna pronounced "eye-ree-onna." I have a passion for animals of all different types. I had started as a kennel technician at a Second Chance Animal Sanctuary in 2020. During my time in shelter work I obtained my Fear Free Shelter Certification and recently obtained my Fear Free Veterinary Certification to help each pet have a more positive experience during their visits. I also worked as a veterinary receptionist and assistant at another clinic. Currently, I am enrolled in the Veterinary Technician Program and hope to get my certification soon. I have had dogs growing up but always loved cats as well and adopted a blue point Siamese cat earlier this year.

MacailynHello! My name is Macailyn, but I go by Mac. I am a certified pet groomer trained at Unleashed Pet Grooming School, where I learned a variety of grooming styles and proper handling techniques for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. I take a gentle, patient approach to grooming and pride myself on close attention to detail to ensure every pet feels safe and comfortable. I have three pups of my own and have always had a deep love for animals and creativity. Combining my passion for pets and hair felt like a natural fit. I truly enjoy the creativity grooming allows and the trust that is built with each dog I work with. I look forward to meeting your fur babies and helping them feel and look their very best!

AlexisHello! My name is Alexis! I have a passion for helping animals. Ever since I was a young girl, I would help my grandfather on the weekends help take care of his farm animals such as cows, bulls, chickens, goats and horses. I knew that from a young age I wanted to become a Vet when I got older. I’ve recently graduated with my Bachelor’s in Wildlife and Biology from the University of the Ozark's in Clarksville, Arkansas. My plan is to attend Oklahoma State University in the Fall of 2025 and become a veterinarian!

AdleyMy name is Adley and I am an avid dog lover and outdoor enthusiast, sharing life’s adventures with my loyal companion, Sage. Together, we explore the great outdoors, enjoying activities like hiking through scenic trails, fishing in tranquil waters, and capturing the beauty of nature through photography. TeaganHi, I’m Teagan! I’m one of the team members here at Boomer Vet, and I truly love what I do. Working with animals is incredibly rewarding to me, and I take pride in helping make every visit a positive experience for both pets and their people. Horses are my true passion, but I also have a big soft spot for dogs—especially Rottweilers. I’m dedicated to creating a calm, compassionate environment and doing everything I can to ensure each patient feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while they’re with us. Building trust with our patients and their families is very important to me, and I’m always happy to lend a gentle hand and a reassuring presence during their visit.

AubreyHello! My name is Aubrey and I am currently a student at OU, finishing my final semester for my B.S. in Chemical Biosciences. I will be applying to vet school this upcoming cycle. If I have spare time, you can find me volunteering as a pet photographer at local animal shelters! Don't be surprised if I ask to take a photo of your pet(s)! Currently, I have five cats who keep life interesting and I love how different each of them are. Contrary to what you might be thinking, I could never choose between dogs and cats if asked. I love working with both equally! Fun fact about me: my favorite dogs to work with are working breeds (GSDs, Heelers, Aussies, Great Pyrenees, etc.).

AliceMy name is Alice, and I spend my summers helping out at Boomer Veterinary Hospital. I assist by welcoming clients, preparing exam rooms, and supporting patient care. I’ve gained experience assisting with anesthesia and giving medications, which has strengthened my dream of becoming a veterinarian one day. During the school year, I attend Terra Verde Discovery School, where I enjoy learning and challenging myself. Outside of the clinic, I love spending time with my Sheltie, Foxy, my cat, Grow Up, my derpy Dumbo rats, and my pony, Mystery, who always keep life fun and full of adventure
